About this estimate
Approximate time for the selected city center, using the evening end of nautical twilight. Actual local conditions can vary. The biblical date advances at this nightfall estimate.
Jerusalem anchors the calendar, and each biblical day proceeds westward from there. Local Gregorian evening dates can differ from the Jerusalem reference. Civil midnight and morning light do not advance the biblical day.
Your device’s time zone suggests a city reference; it does not identify your location. “Use my location” suggests a nearby reference city within about 93 miles (150 km). The estimate is for that city, not your exact address.
Calendar calculations happen in your browser. City searches use this website’s worldwide GeoNames catalog. Your device coordinates stay in this browser and are requested only when you choose the location button. Remembering a city saves only its city choice on this device.
