What’s new - Beta Testing
Here you’ll find the latest fixes and improvements to the 119 Assistant. Before reporting a bug, please review the Known issues. You can also see what’s coming soon.
Latest updates
- January 20, 2026Build 1.32iOS Safari app-switch touch fix
- Buttons stay clickable after app switching: fixed an iPhone/iPad Safari issue where all buttons (including Send) could become unresponsive after leaving Safari with the keyboard open (e.g., switching apps) and then returning.
- Auto-clears stuck focus/keyboard state: when Safari is backgrounded, the app now blurs any focused input/textarea so Safari doesn’t keep a “stuck” focus/keyboard overlay.
- Restores tap hit-testing on return: when Safari becomes active again, the app triggers a tiny, invisible repaint/reflow so taps and clicks route correctly.
- Where: iPhone/iPad Safari (iOS/iPadOS) — app-wide, most noticeable in the Chat composer and other clickable UI.
- Why: prevents a Safari-specific “dead tap” state caused by keyboard/focus and hit-testing quirks when switching apps.
- Note: if you return mid-typing, the message box may not be focused—just tap the composer to continue (intentional tradeoff for stability).
- Tip: this is a workaround for a known Safari issue. We recommend Google Chrome with the 119 Assistant for best performance.
Mode safety: auto-reset to Standard (optional)- New toggle in Standard mode info panel: “Auto-reset mode to Standard after each reply.”
- What it does: if enabled, once the assistant finishes generating a response, the selected mode automatically switches back to Standard.
- Why: prevents accidentally staying in Response / Review / Debate / Kids / etc. and getting the wrong style when you come back later.
- Where: Chat → Mode bar → Standard → Mode description panel (under the Standard guidance).
- Tip: turn this on if you frequently switch modes and forget to switch back. Leave it off if you prefer staying in a mode for multiple prompts in a row.
Mobile sidebar: + New Chat now auto-dismisses- Now closes the drawer: on mobile, tapping “+ New Chat” from the left sidebar now automatically closes the sidebar drawer, so the new conversation is immediately visible.
- Before: the new chat was created, but the sidebar stayed open and covered the chat until manually dismissed.
- Desktop: no change (desktop sidebar behavior remains the same).
- Where: Chat → left sidebar (mobile drawer).
- Why: prevents the drawer from obscuring the assistant UI and matches common mobile navigation behavior.
- Tip: if the drawer still appears stuck on a device, try a hard refresh after the update ships.
- January 12, 2026Build 1.31Chat creation & navigation fixes
- New Chat launches immediately: starting a new chat now opens a fresh composer right away, even if your previous reply is still generating.
- No unexpected redirects: the app now updates the URL only if you’re still viewing the current conversation, so you won’t be pulled back to an older thread when a response finishes.
- Persistent Send button: fixed an issue where the Send button could become stuck after leaving or returning to a chat; it now resets correctly.
- Where: Chat → message composer & left sidebar.
- Why: makes it easy to start multiple conversations at once and prevents confusion when switching threads.
- Tip: feel free to begin a new chat while another is generating—each chat will finish independently.
- January 6, 2026Build 1.3Community Prompt Hub
We’re thrilled to introduce the Community Prompt Hub, a brand new space built just for our users. This hub is designed to help you craft better prompts and achieve more accurate results. Here’s what you can do:
- Learn and explore: Browse a curated collection of tried-and-tested prompts submitted by fellow community members.
- Share and contribute: Submit your own prompts and help expand our library of best practices.
- Engage and vote: Like your favourite prompts to let us know which ones are most helpful and highlight them for others.
- Why: fosters collaboration and learning, helping everyone achieve better answers.
- Tip: dive in, explore, and contribute your best prompts! Your input helps build a richer hub for all.
Chat sidebar improvements- Added chat counts next to each folder name, shown in grey parentheses (e.g., Torah (2)), so you can see activity at a glance.
- Introduced a dedicated “No Folder” filter row at the top of the folder list, with its own count (e.g., No Folder (5)), making it clear these are chats not assigned to any folder.
- Replaced the ambiguous “All” label (which implied all chats) with “No Folder” (which accurately describes the content).
- Made the folder area more consistent and intuitive by treating “No Folder” like a real folder option, with the same styling and placement.
- Resolved sidebar issues caused by earlier partial changes (duplicate count logic and broken folder‑list markup), ensuring the folder list renders correctly and reliably.
- Where: Chat → left sidebar.
- Why: improves clarity, navigation, and reliability when organising chats.
Referral program & account improvements- Referral links for every user: each account now includes a unique referral link and code on the account page. Share this link or code with friends and family.
- First month free for new subscribers: when someone signs up using a referral link and subscribes to the Basic or Pro plan, they automatically get their first month free.
- Gift code rewards for referrers: after a referred user’s first invoice succeeds, the referrer is automatically issued a gift code worth 100 additional messages. You can redeem this code for yourself or share it with someone else.
- Automatic coupon handling: referred sign‑ups no longer need to enter a promo code. The referral link includes everything needed to apply the free‑month coupon during checkout.
- Persistent referral tracking: the system now remembers referral codes through account creation and email confirmation. Even if the user signs up and confirms their email later, the referral is still applied when they choose a plan.
- Improved account page: the referral section has been redesigned to match the site’s look and feel. Users can easily copy their referral link, see their encoded referral code, and understand how the referral program works.
- Where: Account → referral section.
- Why: makes it easier to share 119 Assistant with others and rewards users who bring new subscribers.
- Tip: visit your account page to copy your referral link and start sharing today.
- November 27, 2025Build 1.25Bible verse pop-up improvements
On mobile, verse previews now stay open while you scroll or copy text—closing only when you tap Close or press Esc/back. Desktop behavior is unchanged.
- Desktop: hover to preview, click to pin, press Esc or scroll away to close (unchanged).
- Mobile: bottom-sheet pop-up persists during scrolling; tapping outside no longer dismisses it—use the Close button to exit.
- Fixes accidental closures when reading long passages or copying text on mobile.
- Where: Chat & team conversations.
- Why: aligns with mobile UX guidelines and prevents unexpected pop-up disappearance.
- Tip: if you still see old behavior, perform a hard refresh.
Chats/Folders drawer improvements- Mobile: the Chats / Folders drawer now slides smoothly in and out. You can swipe left on the drawer or the dark backdrop to close it.
- Desktop: click the hamburger icon to toggle the drawer (unchanged).
- The dark overlay no longer blocks taps when the drawer is closed, so you can interact with the rest of the page without accidental tap traps.
- The drawer reliably reopens after you close it—no more stuck states when swiping away.
- Where: Chat → left sidebar.
- Why: improves the user experience on phones and tablets by matching common mobile navigation patterns.
- Tip: try swiping the drawer closed or tapping outside to hide it. If you still see the old behavior, do a hard refresh.
Consistent streaming experience- All replies now appear gradually with a smooth typing effect; no more sudden walls of text.
- Both standard chat and team conversations use the same streaming API, ensuring a unified experience across all modes.
- Improved reliability for long replies and faster feedback when the assistant is processing your question.
- Where: Chat → all modes (Standard, Study, Q&A, Review, Debate, Kids) and Team Studio conversations.
- Why: creates a more polished, professional feel and reduces cognitive load while reading.
- Tip: if you still see replies appear all at once, try a hard refresh or clear your cache. Let us know if the issue persists.
Boost mode banner & live status- When Boost is on, a small blue banner labeled “Boost mode powered on” now appears directly above the prompt box.
- Toggling Boost on or off updates the banner instantly—no more refreshing the page to see whether Boost is active.
- The banner uses the same 119 blue as the Send button and prompt outline, so the status is clear without adding visual noise.
- Where: Chat → message composer, when Boost (GPT-5) is enabled.
- Why: gives a persistent, easy-to-spot reminder when a Boosted reply will cost credits and keeps the UI in sync with the toggle.
- Tip: if the banner doesn’t appear/disappear when you toggle Boost, try a hard refresh and confirm you’re on Build v1.25.
Prompt status in placeholder & locked composer- While a reply is running, the rotating status phrases (for example, “Sending…”, “Unrolling the scrolls…”, “Testing everything…”) now appear inside the prompt box as the placeholder instead of “Ask the 119 Assistant…”.
- The composer becomes read-only while the assistant is working, clearly signaling that you can’t submit another question until the reply finishes.
- Once the response is complete, the placeholder switches back to “Ask the 119 Assistant…” and the box is editable again.
- Where: Chat → message composer.
- Why: avoids confusion during longer replies and keeps the live status message right where you’re looking—next to the disabled Send button.
- Tip: if you still see “Ask the 119 Assistant…” while a reply is generating, do a hard refresh and try again.
Pending replies stay in “Generating…” when you switch chats- If you start a long reply, move to another chat, and then come back before it finishes, the Generating response… card now reappears and stays visible until the answer is complete.
- The Send button remains disabled and shows the spinning progress icon while the assistant is still working, so it’s clear the reply is still in progress.
- Behind the scenes, the assistant keeps generating in the background and the conversation picks up where it left off when you return.
- Where: Chat → any conversation with a long-running reply.
- Why: prevents confusion when jumping between chats and makes it obvious when a reply is still being prepared.
- Tip: if you return to a chat and don’t see the Generating response… card while you know a reply should still be running, try a hard refresh.
Scripture quotes now render “YHWH”- Old Testament quotes replace all-caps “LORD” with “YHWH” for the divine name.
- The assistant’s own prose avoids “Lord”/“LORD” for the Father, preferring “YHWH” except when clearly referring to Yeshua or a human.
- Where: Chat → all assistant replies.
- Why: aligns with 119 Ministries’ preference for using the tetragrammaton.
- Tip: if a verse still shows “LORD,” start a new chat or quote it again.
Bolder section headers in more modesShort, standalone lines are now automatically promoted to bold section headings and styled with a larger font when using several chat modes. This makes sections easier to spot and mirrors the style previously exclusive to Debate mode.
- Where: Standard, Review, ELI12, Family Study & Debate.
- Not in: Response, Kids, Study & Q&A.
- Why: improves readability and consistency across article-style replies while keeping conversational modes (Q&A, Kids) unchanged.
- November 12, 2025Build 1.24
- Send button & composer: fixed-size Send button, no layout shift while sending; prompt padding ensures typing never slides under the button.
- Status line & mobile polish: rotating status phrases now appear below the composer instead of inside the button, improving readability on mobile.
- Cleaner openings: stray Markdown prefixes at the top of replies are stripped when obviously broken; extra padding around the sticky composer provides breathing room.
- Doctrine guardrail: avoids teaching a distinct “Church Age” and emphasises ekklesia continuity from the beginning, citing passages like Acts 7:38 and Ephesians 2:11–22.
- Sidebar & scrollbar polish: folders and chats share matching rounded headers; scrollbars in the main chat pane match the sidebar theme.
- Chat scroll stability: finishing replies no longer jumps the page to the top; URL updates don’t trigger a full-page scroll.
- November 4, 2025Build 1.23
- Clearer sidebar actions: replaced ambiguous “+ New” labels with specific “+ New Folder” and “+ New Chat” buttons.
- Sticky composer: the message box now follows your screen so you can read long replies and respond without scrolling back down; subtle background blur separates content while scrolling.
- November 1, 2025Build 1.22
- Status banner moved: the “Generating response…” message now appears below the prompt next to Stop waiting and Notify me for better visibility and less distraction.
- Bible verse pop-ups (WEB): hover or tap references to preview the World English Bible; supports grouped references and common abbreviations, with caching for snappier feel.
- Smarter response actions: Copy, Save Text (.md) and Print/PDF are now available mid-stream and act on what’s been generated so far; small accessibility polish ensures the toolbar enters the tab order only when useful.
- October 10, 2025Build 1.1
- Mode buttons: Start Response, Review,Q&A, or Debate with a click.
- Boost: Optional deeper reasoning for the next reply (3 credits).
- Response formatting: consistency pass (headings, spacing, Scripture citations).
