Terms of Service

Last updated: December 8, 2025 • Version: 2025-12-08

Welcome to the 119 Assistant (the "Service"), operated by 119 Ministries ("119 Ministries," "we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service (these "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) Purpose and scope

The 119 Assistant is a conversational Bible study tool that answers from Scripture and from our published understanding, referencing 119 Ministries resources. It is designed as an aid for study and discussion only. The Service can be wrong or incomplete. Always test everything against Scripture.

The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, psychological, emergency, or other professional advice. The Service does not browse or access the public internet, social media, or real-time news. It generates responses based on models and resources we configure (including 119 Ministries teachings and Scripture) and may still produce inaccurate or out-of-date information. You agree that you will not treat any output from the Service as authoritative or infallible and that you will verify all responses against Scripture and other primary sources.

2) Accounts, eligibility, and family use

3) Plans, credits, billing, and price changes

3.1 Subscription plans and message credits

We offer subscription plans (for example, Basic and Pro) that include monthly message credit quotas, as well as optional one-time add-on packs ("credits"). We may also offer promotional or trial credits at signup or during promotions.

3.2 Billing and payments

3.3 Price changes (no grandfathering)

We may change the pricing for plans, credits, add-ons, and other paid features of the Service at any time, upward or downward, to reflect our internal costs and other factors.

4) Gift codes and promotions

We may offer gift codes, vouchers, or similar instruments that can be redeemed for credits or access to the Service. Unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase or redemption:

5) Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:

6) Content, accuracy, and "Test Everything"

7) Privacy and data use (summary; see Privacy Policy)

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. If there is any conflict between this Section and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy controls.

8) Intellectual property

9) Third-party services and providers

We rely on third-party services, such as hosting and infrastructure providers (for example, Vercel), databases and authentication (for example, Supabase), payment processors (for example, Stripe), email delivery providers, and AI model providers. Your use of the Service may be subject to the terms, privacy policies, and practices of those third parties. We are not responsible for their content or practices, but we seek to work with reputable providers and configure them to protect your privacy as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may change our third-party providers over time. The Privacy Policy or other communications on our site may list currently used providers in more detail.

10) Disclaimers

11) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (including 119 Ministries, our affiliates, personnel, and suppliers) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

12) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 119 Ministries, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or any content you submit to or through the Service.

13) Termination and suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or applicable law, that your use poses a security, technical, or legal risk, that your use abuses or interferes with the Service, or that continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer commercially or operationally feasible.

You may cancel your subscription or close your account at any time from the Account page (via the Manage Billing button) or by contacting support.

Upon termination or cancellation, your right to access the Service will cease. To the extent permitted by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, any non-expired credits may no longer be usable, and non-expiring add-on credits may be forfeited if your account is closed or if we discontinue the Service as described in Section 14. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3.3, 4–5, 7–12, 14–16) will continue to apply.

14) Service availability, changes, and "What's New"

We are continually working to improve the Service. Accordingly, we may add, modify, or remove features (such as specific modes or tools, including Study, Debate, Kids, or Boost), impose or adjust limits on usage, credits, or access, or perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We do not guarantee any particular feature set or uptime.

We will use reasonable efforts to avoid major disruptions and may communicate significant updates or changes via our website (including any "What's New" page), in-app notifications, and/or email to your registered address.

We may also discontinue the Service entirely. If we do so, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and may, in our discretion, offer refunds or credits in accordance with applicable law.

15) Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of the United States of America and, where applicable, the laws of the U.S. state in which 119 Ministries is organized or primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located within that state, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
