Terms of Service
Last updated: December 8, 2025 • Version: 2025-12-08
Welcome to the 119 Assistant (the "Service"), operated by 119 Ministries ("119 Ministries," "we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service (these "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Purpose and scope
The 119 Assistant is a conversational Bible study tool that answers from Scripture and from our published understanding, referencing 119 Ministries resources. It is designed as an aid for study and discussion only. The Service can be wrong or incomplete. Always test everything against Scripture.
The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, psychological, emergency, or other professional advice. The Service does not browse or access the public internet, social media, or real-time news. It generates responses based on models and resources we configure (including 119 Ministries teachings and Scripture) and may still produce inaccurate or out-of-date information. You agree that you will not treat any output from the Service as authoritative or infallible and that you will verify all responses against Scripture and other primary sources.
2) Accounts, eligibility, and family use
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and agree to these Terms.
- If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, agree to these Terms, and supervise your use of the Service (including any use of Kids Mode). Minors may not create accounts or agree to these Terms on their own.
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We record the time and version of your acceptance at signup and may log subsequent consent events when Terms are updated.
3) Plans, credits, billing, and price changes
3.1 Subscription plans and message credits
We offer subscription plans (for example, Basic and Pro) that include monthly message credit quotas, as well as optional one-time add-on packs ("credits"). We may also offer promotional or trial credits at signup or during promotions.
- Standard message cost: Each message you send to the Service consumes 1 credit.
- Boost Mode cost: When you enable Boost Mode (our higher-resource mode), each message consumes 3 credits. The interface will clearly indicate when Boost Mode is active.
- Monthly plan credits: Basic and Pro plans include a certain number of credits per monthly billing cycle (for example, 250 credits for Basic or 500 credits for Pro, as described on our pricing page at the time of purchase). These discounted included credits expire at the end of each monthly billing cycle or when your plan renews or resets, whichever occurs first. Unused included credits do not roll over to future billing cycles.
- Add-on 100 credits (non-expiring): One-time add-on packs such as the Add-on 100 credits option do not expire and remain available in your account as long as your account remains active and these Terms are in force, subject to our rights under Section 13 (Termination and suspension) and Section 14 (Service availability, changes, and "What's New").
- Promotional & trial credits: We may provide free or promotional credits (for example, a one-time trial) at signup or during special offers. Unless we state otherwise:
- Promotional credits are one-time, non-transferable, and may be used only on the account to which they are granted.
- Promotional credits may expire after a stated period or event (such as the end of a trial period) and may be modified, revoked, or discontinued at any time in our discretion.
- Credits are accounting units for use of the Service. Credits are not currency, have no cash value, and are non-transferable, except where required by law.
3.2 Billing and payments
- Payments for subscriptions and add-ons are processed by our payment provider (for example, Stripe). Additional taxes may apply, and you are responsible for all applicable taxes.
- Unless clearly stated otherwise at the time of purchase, fees are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
- If you change plans mid-cycle, charges may be prorated in accordance with our billing provider's rules and our current pricing.
- You may manage your subscription (including upgrading, downgrading, or canceling) from the Account page by clicking the Manage Billing button.
- If you need help with billing, please contact support@119assistant.ai.
3.3 Price changes (no grandfathering)
We may change the pricing for plans, credits, add-ons, and other paid features of the Service at any time, upward or downward, to reflect our internal costs and other factors.
- New prices generally apply to:
- new purchases (including new subscriptions and add-on credits) made after the price change goes into effect; and
- renewals of existing subscriptions that occur after the effective date of the price change (we do not guarantee grandfathered pricing for renewals).
- We will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice (for example, via email, in-app notice, or our website) of any material price increase that affects an active subscription.
- Your continued use of the Service after a price change and renewal constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
4) Gift codes and promotions
We may offer gift codes, vouchers, or similar instruments that can be redeemed for credits or access to the Service. Unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase or redemption:
- Gift codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not legal tender.
- Gift codes are not intended for resale and may not be sold or exchanged without our prior written consent.
- Lost, stolen, or misused codes may not be replaced, except where required by law.
- Gift code redemptions are subject to these Terms, including credit usage and expiry rules.
- We may cancel, suspend, or adjust gift codes if we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or technical errors.
5) Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:
- Any illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or fraudulent activity.
- Attempting to bypass or interfere with credit or billing systems, rate limits, safety guardrails, content filters, doctrinal constraints, or technical measures that protect the Service.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or disrupting the Service or its infrastructure.
- Uploading or transmitting malicious code, malware, or content that infringes or violates another's rights (including intellectual property rights and privacy rights).
- Automated or bulk use that exceeds normal human use or that uses bots, scripts, or other automation without our prior written consent.
- Representing AI-generated output as authoritative, infallible, or equivalent to Scripture without verification. Always test everything against Scripture.
6) Content, accuracy, and "Test Everything"
- The Service uses probabilistic models and may produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading responses, even when they sound confident or detailed.
- The Service does not browse the public internet or access real-time data. It may be out of date, may misunderstand prompts, or may not reflect all perspectives.
- The Service is configured to prioritize Scripture and 119 Ministries' teachings, but it can still produce content that is inconsistent with our doctrine or with Scripture.
- All responses are provided as a starting point for study. You must verify everything against Scripture, pray, and use discernment (and seek counsel from your local community or trusted leaders where appropriate).
7) Privacy and data use (summary; see Privacy Policy)
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. If there is any conflict between this Section and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy controls.
- The 119 Assistant Support Team has the ability to view conversations and questions (including what you ask and what the Assistant answers) for limited purposes such as:
- auditing and improving doctrinal accuracy,
- diagnosing errors or misbehavior,
- maintaining and improving quality, reliability, and safety, and
- enforcing these Terms and protecting the Service.
- When Support Team members review conversations, they do not have access to direct account identifiers (such as your name, email address, or billing information) alongside that conversation content. They can see what was asked and answered, but not which specific user submitted it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information to improve the Service, develop new features, and understand usage patterns.
- By creating an account and agreeing to these Terms, you authorize us to send emails to the address associated with your account for purposes such as service-related notices (for example, outages, known issues, incidents, and security or billing matters), updates about features and changes, and other information we reasonably believe you need to know or would want to know in connection with the Service. You may be able to manage certain non-essential email preferences where available, but you cannot opt out of receiving essential service communications.
- Any collection, storage, and processing of personal data (including billing information and account details) is performed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
8) Intellectual property
- The Service, including our site design, logos, trademarks, graphics, text, and other content provided by 119 Ministries, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial, Bible-study-related use.
- You retain any rights you have in your own content that you input into the Service (such as questions or notes). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and process that content as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Service, maintain and improve quality and reliability, and comply with law and enforce these Terms.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or included content (other than your own) unless you have our written permission.
9) Third-party services and providers
We rely on third-party services, such as hosting and infrastructure providers (for example, Vercel), databases and authentication (for example, Supabase), payment processors (for example, Stripe), email delivery providers, and AI model providers. Your use of the Service may be subject to the terms, privacy policies, and practices of those third parties. We are not responsible for their content or practices, but we seek to work with reputable providers and configure them to protect your privacy as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may change our third-party providers over time. The Privacy Policy or other communications on our site may list currently used providers in more detail.
10) Disclaimers
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," with no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
- We specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that all outputs will be accurate, complete, or aligned with Scripture, that errors or defects will be corrected, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements.
- You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for verifying all outputs.
11) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (including 119 Ministries, our affiliates, personnel, and suppliers) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
12) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 119 Ministries, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or any content you submit to or through the Service.
13) Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or applicable law, that your use poses a security, technical, or legal risk, that your use abuses or interferes with the Service, or that continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer commercially or operationally feasible.
You may cancel your subscription or close your account at any time from the Account page (via the Manage Billing button) or by contacting support.
Upon termination or cancellation, your right to access the Service will cease. To the extent permitted by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, any non-expired credits may no longer be usable, and non-expiring add-on credits may be forfeited if your account is closed or if we discontinue the Service as described in Section 14. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3.3, 4–5, 7–12, 14–16) will continue to apply.
14) Service availability, changes, and "What's New"
We are continually working to improve the Service. Accordingly, we may add, modify, or remove features (such as specific modes or tools, including Study, Debate, Kids, or Boost), impose or adjust limits on usage, credits, or access, or perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We do not guarantee any particular feature set or uptime.
We will use reasonable efforts to avoid major disruptions and may communicate significant updates or changes via our website (including any "What's New" page), in-app notifications, and/or email to your registered address.
We may also discontinue the Service entirely. If we do so, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and may, in our discretion, offer refunds or credits in accordance with applicable law.
15) Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of the United States of America and, where applicable, the laws of the U.S. state in which 119 Ministries is organized or primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located within that state, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
16) Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific plan or offer terms presented at purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment: You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms (for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization) without your consent.
- Changes to these Terms: We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, by updating the "Last updated" date, posting a notice on the site, or sending an email). Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The version and date above reflect the Terms you accept at signup or upon continued use.
